Elizabeth
Elizabeth is one of the characters from the The Ennead. Even though her name can be shortened to Elzie, she is actually the counterpart to Sapphire Blue. She was the daughter of an unnamed ship captain. At one point she was engaged to one of her father's sailors, James Hamilton, but she hated him and broke it off, which earned her his scorn. Elizabeth suffered socially due to being a woman, but she continued to persevere. She was disgusted with her father due to his hobby of hunting exotic animals and making them into trophies.
She met Shiroi as well as his companions Kyuri and Baku when they sought passage on her father's ship from Japan to Austria. During the voyage, Elizabeth found that Kyuri was a kappa and Baku a tanuki. Her father wound up drowning after he tried to kill Kyuri for his collection. Elizabeth was driven to tears by this loss, but she understood that it was her father's fault that he did and did not blame Kyuri. She gave Kyuri clemency, but Hamilton and the rest of the crew strongly disagreed, because of their respect for her father, their refusal to obey a woman and their fear of the unknown creature. Baku was able to protect her from Hamilton, and they escaped. But before they left, Elizabeth noted the strange effect that the Yokishima Blade (which is what Shiroi was delivering) had on Hamilton and was puzzled by it.
Elizabeth brought Shiroi's slowly growing group to stay at her villa until the time came to travel to St. Stephen's so that Shiroi could deliver the sword. She wanted to move quickly in order to avoid Hamilton's possible return. Poachers arrived at one point delivering a gorilla for her father, and she quickly got rid of them while offering the ape shelter. She was shocked to find that the ape talked and answered to Carthage.
Her activities during the duration of the Ennead's quest are uncertain due to the its unfinished nature. However, it is known from A Steam-Powered OG that Elizabeth survived the adventure and ultimately became Turquoise's first queen.
