Background[edit]
Rhyk was a robotic clone of Golem created by Team Rocket. His most notable differences were a thinner bump at the end of his nose and a different-colored scarf (white instead of Golem's brown). Originally Rhyk appeared in Party Goers 4, where he impersonated Golem for the first part of the OG. However, Golem later converted Rhyk to his side. Rhyk helped to defeat Arab Dude and later became a regular in the Party Goers series.
Good Timeline[edit]
Rhyk serves Golem during Golem's stint as a villain in Gamehiker Member OG. Afterwards, Rhyk serves as little more than am extra in the series.
Bad Timeline[edit]
Rhyk worked for Author 9 to prevent the S-Space deterioration. For this purpose, he was given the TASTS and collected the souls of the former Party Goers within it (as well as the Masamune sword). Then in Member OG 5: Secret of the Ooze, he was specially trained for an upcoming battle with Akujin. The time came when Rhyk was deployed at the end of Member OG 6: VGF Moon, when he was sent to fight Akujin in the MPVP HQ. However, the other Authors did not approve of Author 9's meddling and Rhyk's sponteneous appearance, so he was written back to Author 9's lair.
Rhyk made another appearance near the end of Member OG 7: Neogenesis, where he once more scolded the OGers for their actions. Author 9 was temporarily put out of commission at the time too, so Rhyk had no one to send him into the OG's final battle. He did realize that the only way to stop the deterioration was to kill either the OGers, the Velvet Monkey, Akujin or Lupus with the TASTS. In Member OG 8: This Title is irrelevant, he tried to storm the Cheese Star presumably to kill Lupus. However, he wound up imprisoned there and started losing Party Goer souls due to a freak accident and some escapes.
Rhyk escaped from his cell and then sought to reclaim the TASTS, but Chizu had taken it. This temporarily drove Rhyk crazy, but he was later defeated . He was also forced into some battle involving Yami Yoshi and a mechanical teacup. After Rhyk was forced into the Teacup, he was transformed into Syphnity, the Topaz of Knowledge, but he lost the rest of the Party Goers souls at the same time. Syphnity was somehow able to project a hologram of Rhyk, which accompanied Yami Yoshi and Mareaeus for a while.
Syphnity/Rhyk later had Chizu mail him to Cat by Member OG 10: Full Circle. After Cat had gathered the souls and bodies of all (or most) of the Party Goers, Rhyk demanded the souls and tried to take them by shifting into a metallic humanoid. However, this form was shattered when Dark Ditto stole the Syphnity. The final fate of Rhyk/Syphnity is unknown, although a similar robot called Rhyx was found in EVIL Scientist Dude's stasis in The OGers: Third Generation.
Alternate Path[edit]
In Gamehiker Member OG VIII: The Final Parody, heroes from the Good Timeline arrived shortly after the events of Member OG 7 and just prior to Member OG 8. Rhyk met with the Gamehikers shortly after their arrival and led them in an attack on the OG Six. However, he wound up battling with the rabid demon version of Yami Yoshi from the Good Timeline, who literally tore him apart. Rhyk was then able to merge with Roy and, as Royk, manipulated Koopa X in an attempt to wipe out all those who posed a threat to S-Space, along with the rest of Earth's population.
He was teleported with the Neutral Timeline with the others. And because Roy was part of the Good Timeline, Rhyk was still attached to Roy's body when all the Gamehikers were restored to the Good Timeline at the end. Rhyk was not satisfied with this timeline as well, and the combined Royk then took Siphnitty in hopes of using its power to remodel the Good Timeline in Rhyk's own image. However, one of the alternate personalities lying dormant within Roy, Youma Ganon, instead took dominance. This Rhyk was wiped out along with Youma Ganon.
Other Appearances[edit]
- In Party Goers Heroes: Romantic Ideals, he appears alongside Rhykette as a part of Team Isis.
- He appears in the first version of Member OG 5, coming back to life after 17 years of dormancy. He is tricked into thinking that Lupus is a good guy and the OGers are the bad guys, responsible for the destruction of the Western Hemisphere. He ultimately helps the OGers fight Akujin and seems to be the legendary one destined to defeat Akujin. However, Rhyk is only able to temporarily seal Akujin away and dies soon afterwards, sacrificing himself to save Earth from being destroyed by an X-Bomb.
- He briefly appeared in the second version of Member OG 5, this time journeying to find the TASTS.
