Background[edit]
Cheryl was a polite young trainer who Lucas/Dawn met in the Eterna Forest. When they reached the end of the forest, they parted ways, and in Platinum, she thanked the player trainer for helping her by giving them the Soothe Bell.
She would later appear in the Battle Zone, where Lucas/Dawn could choose her as a partner for Double Battles in the Battle Tower. In Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, the player could not pick partners for the Battle Tower, and instead Cheryl could appear as an opponent paired with Mira in a double battle. In Platinum, she would also appear at the Battleground cafe on random days following completion of the Stark Mountain sidequest, where she could be challenged to a battle. She was also available as a Battle Tower partner at Johto's Battle Frontier in HeartGold and SoulSilver.
