Overview[edit]
The seventh installment of the Gamehiker Member OG series. It was made after Gamehiker Member OG V: Hobo Meets Girl in accordance with the principles of "There is no six". It was after this OG that the GMOG series went into hiatus. It was followed up by Gamehiker Member OG VI, which followed, and the started-off-good-but-died-on-the-second page Gamehiker Member OG VIII: The Final Parody. The only GMOG sidequest to be finished since this one was GMOG Sidequest: ENGLAND???
Plot Summary[edit]
Vorpal tells Kuria a story from his younger day when he (at the time called Hamilton) and Roy were boy scouts in Arizona. They came into conflict with Masamune over an ROB they discovered. Masa wanted to plunder it for money, but Hamilton believed that it belonged in a museum. Vorpal than admits that his flashback story has absolutely nothing to do with this OG's plot.
All the sidekicks in the world of OGing leave the sides of their heroes to join a new sidekick union, apparently headed by none other than Roy (this time possessed by not only the Carrotcake King, but also Kaiser Bear IV and possibly Uruguay). Don Miguel, Marin, Tiffa and Andromeda, who are usually considered sidekick characters, all refuse to join, not seeing themselves as sidekicks.
The Gamehikers- Masamune, Golem, Sapphire Blue, Luiigii of the Pipes, Vorpal and Lupus- all go to investigate the sidekick rally. They wind up being attacked by the wild mob of sidekicks when Straw Man takes control (he claims that he is not a sidekick, that Steve is actually his sidekick, but he sympathizes with the sidekicks) from Roy. The Gamehikers soon meet an underground group of heroes and villains who need their sidekicks back, a group headed by none other than Dark Ditto. The Gamehikers reluctantly agree to help Dark Ditto in getting their sidekicks back.
EVIL Scientist Dude sees the sidekick rebellion as the perfect diversion to keep the OGers busy during his next evil scheme. He modifies Donkey Congo, who goes out to destroy the OGers. EVIL Scientist Dude than leaves the OG when he decides to take a trip to Bermuda. The Gamehikers split up to escape and/or counter the sidekick forces. Golem, Lupus and Luiigii attempt to escape on foot, but they are captured by Straw Man. However Donkey Congo manages to snatch the three of them from Straw Man and uses them as his own hostages in hopes of luring GORE-ILLA into a battle to the death.
Masamune, Vorpal and Sapphire drive a van that Vorpal dubs the General Zarrier until the Zarrier crashes by a barn which is apparently the set of Harvest Goers, the "sidekick amongst main OGs". The three than battle Biou Guiseppie before they are joined by GORE-ILLA, GM and Tiffa. Tiffa develops a crush on Vorpal. Vorpal has not seen any sign of Kuria and believes she has ditched him for the sidekick union, so he willingly becomes Tiffa's boyfriend. The Gamehikers start recieving messages from Donkey Congo. The mere mention of Donkey Congo fills GORE-ILLA with fear and causes him to flee wildly from Donkey Congo, losing his kidneys to Don Miguel in the process.
SteveT soon joins up with the Gamehikers, admitting that he joined because Straw Man was a better villain than him. However, Masamune, Vorpal and Steve secretly conspired to turn their own teammates against each other in order to please their inner villains. In the meantime, all of Donkey Congo's attempts to get the Gamehikers to fight him fail. His hostages, Golem, Lupus and Luiigii of the Pipes, all have villaining experience from previous installments of Gamehiker Member OG, so they decide to join Donkey Congo in a villain alliance that is eventually called B.A.D.G.U.Y.Z..
The true organizers of the sidekick union soon reveal themselves as Guiseppie and Biou Guiseppie, both who have grudges against Dark Ditto. They attempt to execute Dark Ditto until the Gamehikers intervene. The sidekicks are able to defeat and restrain the heroes. But the B.A.D.G.U.Y.Z. soon show up as well. The sidekicks find out the hard way that they can not handle the villains on their own, but the Gamehikers soon come to fight them. At that time the battle becomes even more chaotic when angelic zombie ninja pirate dwelves, lead by the fierce Cap'n Sensei, join in the battle. The heroes all heroically shield their sidekicks from attacks by the strange hybrid creatures. Donkey Congo and Kaiser Bear V are killed during the battle. The battle finally ends when Biou Guiseppie turns into a two Vorpals-tall dragon and devours Cap'n Sensei. The sidekicks than realize the importance of their heroes and return to their sides.
In the epilogue Cap'n Sensei, covered in digestive acids, attempts to attack Golem and Sapphire in their apartment. He is beaten by GORE-ILLA. The final scene has EVIL Scientist Dude disappearing into the Bermuda Triangle.
Unresolved Threads[edit]
After the end of Gamehiker Member OG VII, there were several plot threads that were not continued or mentioned in future Gamehiker Member OGs. This is likely because the next OG started took place between GMOG V and this OG, and that there were no true follow-ups to this OG for a while, thus many OGers probably forgot about them. These are some of the plot threads:
- Vorpal is shown dating Tiffa, and there is no sign of Kuria although Vorpal the author said he would bring Kuria back into the OG himself. But Kuria never showed up again in Gamehiker Member OG VII. When Gamehiker Member OG VIII was made, Vorpal was shown preparing to marry Kuria. Several references were made to the relationship with Tiffa later on.
- The ending implies that Masamune, Vorpal and SteveT's villainous alliance is still intact and that they will try even eviller plots in the next OG, yet they never team up in following GMOGs until Gamehiker Member OG IX: TRAITOR?!?!?!?!?!?!, which shows them finally reprising their evil alliance.
References/Homages to Other OGs[edit]
- At one point the OGers hide in what is described as an abandoned Harvest Goers set. Harvest Goers is described as "the sidekick amongst main OGs".
- Vorpal's car the General Zarrier, is an homage not only to Dukes of Hazard, but also to Vorpal's character Ian Zarrier in the first Final Fantasy OG.
- The sidekick characters include many characters from past Party Goers and such stories.
Quotes[edit]
Masamune: I'm not happy either, but don't swear. This is a family story.
GM: You mean family's would bother to read a story about cheesecakes and sword people and stuff? I doubt it.
-GM had us pegged.
